Gavin Baker is an undergraduate at the University of Florida, where he studies political science. In 2005, he co-founded Florida Free Culture, UF's chapter of FreeCulture.org; he currently sits on FreeCulture.org's board of directors. Gavin volunteers as an editor for Wikipedia and its sister projects; he is also involved in GatorLug and UF's chapter of Universities Allied for Essential Medicines. He is a former reporter and columnist for the Independent Florida Alligator, UF's student newspaper; in high school, he started a club to contribute public domain books to Project Gutenberg. Gavin enjoys spending time with Gloria, his girlfriend of two years; cookies; animals; and the great outdoors.
