Talk:Wind Power
From Pete Ashdown Campaign Collaboration Wiki
Wind power could not provide 100% of Utah's energy. It may be able to provide more power than Utah uses, but the problem with wind power is that it comes when the wind does, not when the power is required. This doesn't mean wind is a bad idea, just that it's misleading to state that it could provide all of our power, at least without some sort of massive power storage system that has yet to be invented. Solar and wind energy are great, but the power grid will have to have sufficient on-demand capacity to supply the state's needs when it's dark and the wind isn't blowing. I think nuclear power is an excellent choice, and I think Utah is particularly well-suited to deployment of nuclear power.
