Ashdown Announces New Campaign Manager

Pete Ashdown, Democratic candidate for the United States Senate, has hired
Brett Garner as his new campaign manager.  Mr. Garner will be replacing Carla
Wiese, who, due to her increasing responsibilities as a counselor for teens,
is unable to continue full time work on Mr.  Ashdown's Senate
campaign. Ms. Wiese continues to support Pete Ashdown in his campaign and will
continue to volunteer where possible.

Asked about his new position as Campaign Manager, Garner said, "I am
incredibly grateful for this wonderful opportunity to work with Mr. Ashdown.
He has the energy, experience, and intelligence we need in a Senator
representing Utah in Washington D.C."

Like Ashdown, Brett Garner was born and raised in Bountiful, Utah.
Mr. Garner is a graduate of the University of Utah in Political
Science.  He managed the 2004 state legislative campaign of Bret
Hughes in House District 20 and has interned for the nonpartisan
Campaign Legal Center in Washington D.C.  He is also involved with the
Davis County Democrats and Young Democrats of Utah.

In appointing Garner, Ashdown stated, "Brett's Utah background, his honesty,
integrity and experience are a vital part of my strategy for winning this
election.  I am confident that Brett shares my goals and will help me achieve
victory."

Ashdown will soon announce his plans for campaigning in the remainder of this
